Adamastos M.C.P.Y. is a new family company; it was established in 2020 owning a new Sun Odyssey 490 delivered on January 2020 from Jeanneau shipyard in France. Sailing for us evolved from a sport activity into passion. Before putting this boat in service, we first sailed, walked on deck, laid on the swimming platform, jumped into the water to ensure that it is made hundred percent for pleasure.
Our target is to bring all your best dreams for this summer alive and to hear from you soon the coming back.
We welcome and will consider any comments and suggestion for further improvement.
ABOUT YACHT NAME
Adamastos is the Greek word for indomitable, unbowed, unbroken, unalterable, from which derives the word adamas meaning unconquerable, invincible, indestructible and the word diamond. The Greeks were accurate in naming the gem considering that diamond is the hardest natural substance on earth.
Classic Greek philosopher Plato, founder of the first Academy in Athens (387 BC), suggested that diamonds held mystic powers and they were, in reality, celestial beings trapped in crystals.

The Greek people believed the diamonds were tears of the gods or broken splinters from fallen stars. Given that Astraios was the Titan god of stars and by Eos (the Titaness and the goddess of the dawn who rose each morning from her home at the edge of the Oceanus) he was the father of the Stars and the four seasonal Winds, they believed the diamonds were actually a piece of the mythological universe and as godly gifts a charm of protection that could help keep them safe from harm. Soldiers routinely wore them on the battlegrounds to help them survive.
Since diamonds are unique, precious, and invincible (almost) they represent lasting love and pledge between two people.
